Alexis Barron started life as a lab rat, she’s currently nineteen, going on twenty (as far as she knows) and has escaped from this life three times, the first two times, she got brought back.

Alexis is built like an Amazon, six foot four with a roundhouse that can break bones. She’s technically a second-generation mutant, but only technically since she’s a full-on test tube baby, artificial womb and all, and the mutant gene was spliced onto her DNA as an embryo and re-spliced during her formative years, just to make sure it stuck.

Her florakinetic powers were discovered during her first escape at age twelve, when the thorn bushes surrounding the compound not only parted to let her through while hindering her captors, but also burst violently into bloom, fist-sized, incandescently white roses. The brambles were replaced with razor wire and broken glass not long before she was brought back a few months later.

The second great escape took place four years later, shortly after she turned sixteen, and lasted longer than her first, it took them nearly a year for them to find her and bring her back. They thought to keep her mollified with a genetically engineered lump of moss, one with limited sentience. Alexis named him Bob, and they became fast friends. She worked with him to make him smarter and help him grow physically as well (more info on Bob below)

Alexis is slow to trust people and quick to learn places, so that she can find her way around and keep herself hidden should the need arise.
She has limited combat and tactical training, the facility where she was grown is mostly for the development of anti-mutant weaponry. She never thought she was the only one there, but she also doesn’t know for certain, since she’s never seen anyone else. She suspects that they’re all kept in the dark so as to prevent a mass revolt.

With Bob's help, she escaped again two years later, and has so far beat her prior record of staying out in the real world, she's nineteen now, but has often passed as older, mostly to get a job. Or, rather, jobs plural, she's had more than one in the year and a half that she's been out.

About Bob: Bob is about the size of an adolescent kitten, and has three retractable, fully prehensile tendrils. He has no visible mouth, but still eats (mostly jellybeans) and vocalizes. He can mimic both birdcalls and electronic noises pitch-perfectly, and Alexis has been trying to teach him to speak. He seems to be at least partially empathic, especially when it comes to Alexis’ moods.
